The weather permitted! We are very proud of how well our pupils participated at both Sports Day events. A big thanks to all our wonderful supporters for cheering us on, to the fantastic Richard McMeekin for his repartee and to the SPAR Carryduff for the water and fruit. Christmas Fair FUn
The PTA organised a brilliant night for us all and it was so well attended. Santa was very impressed with the pupils from Carryduff Primary School and told us they are all on the 'Nice' list (he was also very impressed with his new grotto). Maths/coding week 2016
We all had great fun solving lots of problems and coding some tricky games throughout the week.
Kick starting our Autumn Active Challenge, pupils came dressed as bright as they could for 'Ditch the Dark Day'. We now want to see how many pupils can make 8 'Active' journeys to school before half term. There should be no school traffic in Killynure Road over the next two weeks!
Well done to Eva who competed in the Ulster Schools' Championships at the weekend. She came 2nd in the 50m backstroke and 3rd in the 50m butterfly. She will now go forward to represent the school in the Irish Championships in February.
P4 led a lovely assembly this morning on the topic of Life Cycles. A talented class, full of beautiful singers too.
KS2 parents experienced a great evening of hands on maths courtesy of Ian and Paul from the Izak 9 team. Parents, kids and maths together - love it!

Some of our intrepid P1 & P2 pupils taking off without their stabilisers. Thanks to Emma from Sustrans for taking all the sessions and to parents for joining in.
P7 have been having great fun and learning lots with the introduction of IZAK9 to help with Mental Maths. Intrigued? W're holding a workshop for all KS2 parents on Wednesday 28th September at 7pm. Come along and join us for a bit of craic while experiencing what we get up to in KS2. Light refreshments will be provided beforehand.
Riley in P2 has become a bit of a local celebrity with various appearances on TV and radio over the past few weeks. Riley spent a lot of time in the Royal Victoria Hospital when he was a baby and as a result he wants to raise some money for the hospital that helped save his life.
To help him on his mission, each class has a copper jar in their class which they hope to fill over the next few weeks. Get hunting down the back of those sofas!
We are delighted to be able to offer this course to our parents again this year. See details beside for the information session on Tues 20 September.
Very well done to Theo, Cameron, Dawn and Sera who all passed piano exams with distinction. Keep up the hard work this year.
playground paths pals
Our Primary 6 class completed training in PATHs Pals in June and will start work next week (September). Their job is to ensure that in our playground everyone is included in games; they will teach the younger pupils some new games to play and include anyone feeling lonely or left out. They will also be able to remind the pupils to use their PATHs strategies to resolve issues - use Control Signals (P4-P7) or do Turtle (P1-P3). Good luck guys, you'll be great.
